Our guide to United States

Welcome to January's chapter of our own PQE worldwide guide, where we will explore some of our consultants' recommendation for places to eat and visit when you visit our subsidiaries.

About our cover photo of the month

What you see in the picture is a permanent art installation, called Prada Marfa, by artists Elmgreen & Dragset, that in an interview for Architecture Now! described the work as a "pop architectural land art project". The original intent for this art piece was in fact to gradually degrade into its surrounding without undergoing maintenances or repairs. The installation was inaugurated on October 1, 2005. But the night the sculpture was completed, the store was vandalized and robbed, so the artists' original plan had to be revised.

If you wish to see Prada Marfa, you will need to drive off U.S. Highway 90, 1.4 miles (2.3 km) northwest of Valentine, Texas, and about 26 miles (42 km) northwest of the city of Marfa.
